I follow a lot of people with cancer on Instagram, and unintentionally on Facebook. We all find each other.
I have been following someone and vice versa for a couple of years who has a very aggressive form of cancer. I know multiple people who have died from this particular form some of them close to me.
In the last six months there has been a very familiar downward spiral documented and then after starting a new clinical trial information got sparse until there were many pictures showing someone who was fading away. It’s a terrible thing to watch. I have been dreading the post showing a healthy happy face which will be captioned, “this is (blank’s) son and I’m sorry to tell you all”
Yesterday I saw the picture and waited a long time to read it, and SON OF A BITCH!! It was from the patient! After months of hospitalization and pain & sickness – suddenly all the cancer was GONE. I couldn’t have been more surprised if I woke up tall.
Clinical trials are such a life line for people, Hello me! I hope this treatment becomes accessible and available to other patients soon. The clinical trial I was in became an approved treatment the next year and it made me very happy. 🙂
