Just Monday Musings about feline Ingenue

AKA too much imagination

I am sure I have mentioned this before, but we rotate streaming services. We do not watch all of them at the same time, so why pay for all of them. So we just added MAX again after a couple of years without and I will now binge for six months on all the things I missed. Especially the last seasons of Succession

We watched Barbie on Friday night. I thought it was very original and very well done, however I think I am just jaded and burnt out by all the same sentiments for the last couple of years followed up by actual news stories showing the next day that the scale is moving by millimeters these days.

Yesterday I spent the day watching The Last of Us – (first four/five episodes NO SPOILERS!) and am really enjoying. Exactly my kind of show. Though episode two did a whole lot of squeamish triggering to one of my three phobias. Ick.

This morning I watched a cat recorded sneaking across my deck, as I do at least once a week. We have so many feral cats in the neighborhood now that if a non-feral ends up over here I am sure they feel just like the survivors of an apocalypse trying to just make it to another safe place. I feel like there should be a dark cartoon about this storyline.

“I feel this is the newly arrived ingenue on her first days of being outside the safe zones Staying close to the buildings as if the shadows offer protection from the spot lights all turning on as she walks. She can hear the rustle as the residents behind the fence watch her……waiting….

We rotate streaming services, too. We recently stopped Max and added Netflix. We always have YouTube no commercials for Craig. If he is watching TV without me he is watching YouTube.

It is fun to see the critters pass through your yard. We don’t have many cats that pass through. I think most often we have raccoons. Right now we are having an issue and our cameras are off. Too much to do for Craig and not enough time.

Okay I’m going to sound like a heretic but Craig and I didn’t like the Barbie movie. We didn’t even finish. Wasn’t the message – I don’t know we probably were just too tired or something.

LOL about the heretic, I understand.
It’s also funny that we stopped Netflix and added MAX. Between our two households it’s a wash for them

I had mixed feelings about the Barbie movie, but I saw it in the theater with my daughter, so it was interesting to see how she saw it.

We have so many cats here, not just feral but lots of people just let their cats roam the neighborhood. I haven’t seen the black one from last year since Fall, but his white companion has adopted our yard now. This cat. Often hangs out on our deck and tries to come in the house, too. If I try to shoo it away, it just casually walks under the deck and stares at me, since I have obviously lost my mind. This is so hard because I like cats, but in my yard they are murder machines. There are no more frogs, toads, or turtles, and we no longer sit in the backyard to watch the birds at the feeders. Sometimes when there are too many cats we just stop feeding for a while because it just seems like a bird trap.

I hope people are more careful with their animals, because coyotes have been spotted in yards just a few streets over.

One of my big feats is find an injured cat. 🐈‍⬛ 🙁
