Civil Liberties or Right to Justice?

I’ve been watching the Innocence Files on NetFlix recently and it got me thinking about DNA.

Do you think it is ethical/right or a violation of civil liberties for people/police/lawyers to be able to submit DNA into the now publicly available DNA – Ancestry databases and look for a match or a relative?

I have my DNA listed on a couple of different sites. What if one of my relatives commits a crime and leaves a trace of DNA. They never agreed to have their DNA listed on 23 & Me. What if I get a call from the Police saying we have a match to you. The match says 50% DNA matching which means it’s a child or sibling.
