A Mystery (maybe)

This is a view of my neighbors house (sort of) from my back deck.

As you can see the are very close. 40 feet? There is a stockade fence between us. The have lived there about 2 years? Maybe less. It’s a man and a woman. I have spoken to them a couple of times but only because they got a puppy. The puppy is a black lab/retriever mix. Her name is Scarlett and I think she is about 10 months old now.

Today when Benny and I were coming back from a walk we saw this:

I believe this is Scarlett but I am not 100% sure. I called my husband and asked him to grab a leash and come out. But as you can see by the video she bolted. I put Benny in the house and then my husband and I went and looked for her. I went to the neighbors house and knocked on the door. If you know me, you know this was a big move. No one answered the door, and Scarlett who is a barker, did not bark.

We were not able to find the dog again. We saw her one more time a few minutes later running back towards this condo and then she disappeared.

So now I’ve been watching the condo all evening. No dog, no people. So maybe they are gone and took her with them? Except…they always shut their blinds. The blinds are open. About 30 minutes ago a light turned on for about 4 minutes and then turned off.

I just don’t know anything at all and none of it makes sense and it’s going to worry me until I know the dog is safe and sound.
