You can’t always control the wind, but you can control your sails.

-Dr. Bob Chope

My sleep was the tiniest bit better last night so I am holding onto the hope that we are almost done with this particular cycle of insomnia.

HOWEVER – I fucking woke up in AFIB! Okay, that was an overly dramatic way of saying it. It was either pretty mild or I am getting used to it. It only lasted a bit and was not extreme.

It is just so angering that I have things happening that I cannot control. I do not understand why my heart suddenly decided that it got to make all the decisions. Shouldn’t there be a pill or an exercise or something?

Speaking of exercise. I am up to 55 minutes X 6 days a week. I really want to add 12 minutes but it is starting to feel selfish that I am taking that much time to do something that only benefits me.

huh…..there’s a lot to unpack in that paragraph up there isn’t there?

I picked up rug number 6002 to cover up the last remaining spot Dusty is slipping on so today is sweeping and rearranging day. If I had known 6 years ago that eventually I would have a floor entirely covered in throw rugs I would at least have bought them all at once and got the same pattern and dye lot.

I have done so much of that rearranging and buying rugs etc for our 5 dogs and 7 cats. Their old age is hard on all of us!!

With that whole AFIB thing. I had paroxysmal atrial tachardia from age 13 until my ablation when I was 40 something. Something that sometimes worked for me was a deep intake of breath and hold it until I couldn’t hold it longer or until I felt that thump when I went back into sinus rhythm. It didn’t workevery time but….We are all different so this might not do it for you but “maybe”?

      So many rugs!
It’s funny you should mention that, I have been working on my breathing I breathe very shallow and very slowly because of the scar tissue in my lungs so I’m trying to teach myself to breathe deep and also to do anything that activates my vagus nerve during afib. I don’t know if it works, but you know breathing is good either way so I figure I win.
