It is my Birthday

and I will cry if I want to

In 2026 we have had three out of the four of my little family in the cardiac unit of a hospital. #4 – this is not a competition feel free to NOT follow suit.

My daughter spent the last few days in the hospital and did in fact have a heart attack. She is very young, and it is just not right. I do not like it at all. Right now she is fine though dealing with the chaos that is the USA medical system.

My family near and far suffers from an abundance of anxiety. I would guess I am the least anxious out of all of us. I think I just have an extraordinary ability to compartmentalize. I live by the Scarlett O’Hara philosophy , I will think about it tomorrow. But today I am finding myself right on the edge. It is not worry about health but an anxiety for the amount of anxiety my daughter is probably feeling. She is an adult, she is capable, but I WANT TO FIX IT immediately and with no acrobatics of the mental, or physical for that matter, kind.
Things that cause my children harm of the mental or physical variety make my pacifist self want to stab someone or something.

Journey is far too popular. Every singe time I turn on any of my Pandora stations I know I will eventually hear at least one Journey song. I like Journey, but really, there just were not that many songs!

Because today is my birthday I was slapped in the face with the knowledge that I have been telling people the wrong age for a year. 🙂 I will now be the same age for two years!

The issues of the week plus the fact that I started a new med on Wednesday have caused me to abruptly lose some weight and put me below my allowed line. So I think today I will in fact buy a cake and EAT IT!

Thanks for listening my beautiful wonderful people and for goodness sakes just BE NICE to each other. It is not that hard.

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

Oh No, I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter. Sending healing vibes!

And on a brighter note – Happy Birthday! Cheers to a year with fewer cardiac related events, and more events that call for cake! ♥️

    1. Thanks!

Argh, when your child (no matter how old they are) has a problem it is the WORST, especially if they are an adult. I hope she recovers nicely; and because she is so young maybe they can fix whatever caused it, right away.

Happy birthday no matter what age you are – it doesn’t matter! You should be really good at it this year because you practiced!

    1. LOL ! Like a do-over year!

Holding on to the irony that popped in when I read the first paragraph. Look at you, Tracy…..the survivor of your incredibly difficult diagnosisssss. I hate to hear that the rest of your family is struggling with health issues! Not taking the high road when I say IT IS JUST NOT FAIR! Hang on. You are the strongest woman I know. I hope knowing you have so much love and support from afar helps. And Happy Birthday.

  4. I hope you can find the best cake and it’s wonderful and you enjoy it and it doesn’t make you sick or hurt.

I hope your birthday day is delightful despite all the worries. I wish I could be there and share a piece of cake with you.

Cardiac-wise what a tough year for all of you. 🙁

It is so hard when your kids are sick and having problems.

Craig says the song that the radio stations overplay is Tiny Dancer by Elton John.

    1. I dislike Tiny Dancer so much! !
